Applications

The number of applications that can be performed with flow cytometry is virtually endless. We have compiled a short list of some of the most popular applications to introduce you to the method and provide a starting point for your flow-based studies. Apoptosis:

Apoptosis, also known as “programmed cell death,” is a critical process in maintaining cellular homeostasis.

Cellular Viability:

Analyzing highly viable and healthy cells is crucial for good data acquisition.

Cellular Proliferation & Tracking:

When cells become cancerous, somatic mutations in the genome bypass the control mechanisms that normally keep quiescent cells in check, allowing them to proliferate without constraint.

DNA Content & Ploidy Analysis:

The search for improved cancer therapies often focuses on DNA repair checkpoint restoration, which can be studied by monitoring cell cycle progression and timing.
